Between Two Homes : The Masked Man
"The Masked Man" film is part of an artistic project that attempts to renegotiate the Romanian stereotype by focusing on the real life experiences of Romanians living in the UK. The interpretation of the stereotype as a barrier or mask that gets assigned to people and which obscures personal identities and personas has its visual roots within Romanian folk and traditional memory. Having pagan origins, the role of the mask is to conceal identity as well as to scare malefic spirits away. Mask wearers can mock and humiliate dissatisfactory habits of others, bringing criticism and forcing those in question to accept the implications of their actions. In the film, the masked man walks through the streets of Bucharest capturing a day in his life, accompanied by testimonies of Romanians living in the UK who are voicing their experiences on the reductive effects of stereotyping.

Remembering '89 - The Romanian Revolution
is part of an artistic project that attempts to renegotiate the Romanian stereotype. This short documentary film brings forward the testimonies of my grandfather who was a military man during the Romanian communist regime. Tackling the social and economical hardship of the time, the interview tries to sheds light over the confusion of the revolution and its aftermath, a subject that over the years has also been widely misreported on by a vast number of media platforms. Coupled with archival material from the communist era, the film discusses the limitations of Romanian people under Ceausescu's direction, food and heating shortages, the ban on travelling to non-socialist countries
"Remembering '89 " attempts to explore the reasons for Romanian immigration, looking at the ins and outs of a nation whose political leaders have worryingly mismanaged it time and time again.
